Bulgaria: BNT decides not to go to Vienna

The Bulgarian national broadcaster BNT  has confirmed that they are not taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Bulgaria got an extended deadline from the EBU, to get their financial situation in order, but apparently this was not enough.

The Management Board of BNT has decided not to return to the contest in Vienna, after considering the financial possibilities of broadcaster, and their reduced subsidy for 2015. BNT wanted to take part, and they have a big Eurovision website of their own, but they now say they will stay away from the contest once again.

The full participant list has not been published by the EBU. They will do so on the 26th of January, when the allocation draw for the semifinals will be made. It looks like there will be 39 countries taking part.

The last time we saw Bulgaria in the Eurovision Song Contest was in Malmö 2013, when Elitsa & Stoyan failed to qualify through the semifinals with the song “Samo Shampioni”.
