BNT has informed ESCDaily.com that the broadcaster will internally select their act for Malmö. A BNT appointed committee, including producers from Programme BNT1 Directorate, will be in charge of selecting the entrant which will be publicly announced before 10th February 2013.
BNT also informs ESCDaily.com that the artist will have the opportunity to propose up to 5 (five) songs for initial selection, which will then be cut to three by the committee. The 3 songs will be officially announced and presented live during the programme “Nedelya х 3” on February 17th 2013. The sequential order of performances will be determined via draw, and videos of the three candidate songs will be broadcast repeatedly for a fortnight on the programmes of BNT, it’s radio stations and media partners of BNT.
On March 3rd the selected songs will be performed once again on BNT, where the viewers and a special jury will evaluate the songs. Viewers will have the chance to vote via telephone numbers (to be announced in advance) or by sending an SMS – one for each song from a single phone number. A five-member jury will be also in charge of also casting their vote. The song that has received the greatest number of points from the 50% televote and 50% jury aggregate vote will be ranked first, and therefore represent Bulgaria in Malmö, Sweden, in the second semifinal on May 16th.
