Bulgaria: Poli Genova to host Junior Eurovision Song Contest

The host for this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be Bulgarian singer Poli Genova, national broadcaster BNT announced earlier today. Genova represented Bulgaria during the adult Song Contest back in 2011 with her song ‘Na Inat’, where she finished 12th in the second Semi Final.

Genova first tried to represent her country in 2005 and 2006, on both occasions failing to win the Bulgarian preselection as a member of the girl group Melody. As a solo singer she did manage to claim the top spot, and went on to fly the Bulgarian flag in Düsseldorf, where she didn’t qualify for the Grand Final. After her participation in the 2011 contest, Genova released her debut album, and was a judge on the first season of the Bulgarian X Factor.
