Georgia: ‘Candy’ go to Yerevan

The national final of Georgia for Junior Eurovision 2011 has just ended at GPB’s studio in Tbilisi, and the group “Candy” has emerged as the winner, thus representing the caucasian nation at the international final on December 3rd with the song “Candy Music”.

“Candy” is a five-member girlband created especially for Junior Eurovision, by powerful Georgian musicstudio “Bzikebistudio”, led by producer Giga Kukhianidze who have also been behind the entries of Bzikebi in Junior Eurovision 2008, and that of Mariam Kakhelishvili in 2010, gaining Georgia’s two highest placings in the contest.

It’s members are between the ages of 10 and 15 – they are Irina Khechanovi (10), Mariam Gvaladze (14), Ana Khanchalyan (15), Gvantsa Sanebildze (13) and Ira Kovalenko (14). They all live in Tbilisi, and have taken part in various music festivals in Georgia and performed on TV – Ana Khanchalyan placing 4th in Nichieri (Georgia’s Got Talent) in 2010.
