Latvia’s Eurovision selection Supernova is now complete, with the winner decided. A total of 11 acts competed, including a number of former Eurovision artists.
The Latvian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 is called ‘The Moon is Rising’. As stated earlier, broadcaster LTV once again chose Samanta Tina as the artist to represent Latvia this year.
It would have been a sad tale. After so many failed attempts, when she finally got to go to Eurovision, it would have been cancelled. But thankfully for Samanta Tina, she will get her chance for Latvia in 2021.
We may not get to see our 2020 favourites take to the stage, but that doesn’t mean we can’t reminisce on our Eurovision favourites. This series is aimed to discover the team’s favourite entries from the 21st century, from 2001 to 2019.
Samanta Tīna has won the Latvian national selection, Supernova 2020 and as a result, will be the twenty-first Eurovision representative for Latvia. Samantina Tina will take part in Supernova again in 2020. Broadcaster LTV announced the nine final candidates and the multiple former participant is on the list. Markus Riva has not made the cut.
Markus Riva is on the shortlist again for the Latvian preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2020. He is one of the 26 hopefuls, a list that will be narrowed down to 8 by a jury panel for the actual final show.
Eurovision 2019 is the year of jury darlings. No less than 9 times this preselection season, a song won without the support of the televoters. ESCDaily introduces them all to you in the build-up to Tel Aviv, moving on with Carousel from Latvia.
Carousel has won the final of Supernova 2019 today in Latvia and will therefore also represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv. Makus Riva was the runner-up.
