The Roop has won Pabandom iš naujo 2021 and will perform for Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. Their song ‘Discoteque’ won both the televote and the jury vote of the national final.

The semi final of Pabandom iš naujo has been won by Gebrasy. He go to the final in Lithuania of next week and face the pre-qualified act The Roop.

Lithuania is down to their last eleven acts in their search for the next Eurovision song. After the second heat of Pabandom iš Naujo!, five acts joined the qualifiers of the first heat and direct qualifiers The Roop.

Voldemars Petersons has won the first heat of Pabandom iš naujo! 2021 in Lithuania with the song ‘Never fall for you again’. Four other acts also qualified for the next round of the competition.

We may not get to see our 2020 favourites take to the stage, but that doesn’t mean we can’t reminisce on our Eurovision favourites. This series is aimed to discover the team’s favourite entries from the 21st century, from 2001 to 2019.

The year 2020 could have been a historic year for Lithuania. Would The ROOP finally have surpassed LT United as the most successful Lithuanian Eurovision entry? We will never know.

The Roop has won Pabandom iš naujo!, the Lithuanian preselection for Eurovision 2020. The Roop will sing the winning song ‘On Fire’ at the contest in Rotterdam.
