Ukraine will not take part at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. The country did not manage to find an artist willing to take part in accordance with a set of additional rules, set up by broadcaster UA:PBC, who has confirmed the news on Wednesday afternoon.
MARUV will not represent Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. The singer has not reached an agreement with broadcaster UA:PBC about a contract she had to sign. The broadcaster made this contract mandatory to take part in Tel Aviv.
Maruv has won Vidbir with “Siren Song”. The Ukrainian network UA:PBC will now offer her a ticket to Tel Aviv. However, some paperwork needs to be fixed before Maruv’s Eurovision participation is certain.
Tonight (Saturday 23rd February), Ukraine will be selecting their entry via their national final. The act that replaced Tayanna, Maruv, is in the grand final of Vidbir, as are the fan favourites, Kazka. Who will win the Ukrainian ticket to go to Tel Aviv?
Freedom Jazz has topped the table to win the second semi final of Vidbir in Ukraine, whilst Anna Maria and Kazka have qualified behind them in 2nd and 3rd with My Road and Apart respectively.
Maruv, along with former entrants Brunettes shoot Blondes and Yuko are through to the Grand final of Vidbir 2019 in Ukraine. Maruv is the replacement for Tayanna who withdrew for personal and unknown reasons.

Ukrainian broadcasters STB and UA:PBC have announced that they will continue with their national final format Vidbir to select their Eurovision act in 2019.
The prop in the Ukranian performance is not a coffin, but a piano. Singer Mélovin said this at his press conference. During the rehearsal, we could see Mélovin step out of the prop as if he rises from the dead.
After 2 semi finals, and a spectacular grand final, the Ukrainian jury and public have decided that Melovin will represent Ukraine in Lisbon.
