Chanel Wins Spain’s Benidorm Fest with ‘SloMo’

The Spanish national selection, Benidorm Fest is complete, with Chanel set to represent the nation at Eurovision. Alaska, Inés Hernand and Màxim Huerta hosted the highly anticipated national selection.

A total of eight acts competed in the Benidorm Fest final. The voting consisted of professional jury (50%), demoscopic jury (25%) and public voting (25%). Here are the competing acts:

  1. Rayden – “Calle de la llorería”
  2. Tanxuguerias – “Terra”
  3. Varry Brava – “Raffaella”
  4. Chanel – “SloMo”
  5.  Rigoberta Bandini – “Ay Mamá”
  6. Xeinn – “Eco”
  7. Gonzalo Hermida – “Quién lo diría”
  8. Blanca Paloma – “Secreto de agua”

The expert jury awarded Chanel with 51 points. In second with the jury was Rigoberta Bandini with 46 points, then Blanca Paloma with 39 points.

The Demoscopic jury awarded 30 points to Tanxugueiras, with Chanel receiving 25 points. Rigoberta received 20 points.

In the televote, Tanxugueiras once again received the top points. Rigoberta Bandini followed, and then Chanel placed third with the televote.

With the points combined, the results were very close. Chanel finished in first place with 96 points, with Rigoberta trailing with 91 points. In third was Tanxugueiras with 90 points.
