Hungary and Montenegro have officially withdrawn from the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Still, there will be 41 countries that take part in Rotterdam, as Bulgaria and Ukraine make their comeback in the contest.
After a one year break due to financial issues, Bulgarian broadcaster BNT has confirmed that the nation returns to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2020. BNT have signed the agreement and rule book needed to participate.
Bulgaria will not take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. The broadcaster BNT is basing its decision on financial reasons, “because the costs of the project far exceed the financial capacity of BNT according to the Management of the broadcaster”.
