Cyprus 2018 – Eleni Foureira – Fuego

Eleni Foureira was born on 7th March 1987 in Fier, Albania. Growing up in Greece, Eleni began her music career in 2007 when she joined the girl group Mystique. The group released a few singles but split up in 2009. The following year Eleni began her solo career, in which she kicked off by releasing her debut studio album, which went platinum in Greece. She released two more albums in 2012 and 2014, before staring in Barbarella: the 80’s Musical between 2015 and 2016. She has also appeared as a judge on the Greek version of So You Think You Can Dance.

Eleni has attempted to represent Greece at the contest multiple times in the past 10 years. Her first attempt was in 2010, where she came second in the Greek national final show. In 2013, she starred once again in the national final, performing “Wild Dances” with Ruslana. Most recently, she attempted to represent Greece in 2016 and 2017 but was rejected by the broadcaster.

Cyprus takes part in the second half of the first semi final on the 8th of May 2018.
