Helena Paparizou
Alex is no stranger to the Eurovision Song Contest. He wrote and produced Always (Azerbaijan 2009), Yassou Maria (Greece 2007) and La La Love (Cyprus 2012). He has also worked with prominent and best-selling international recording artists, including Mexican pop star Paulina Rubio, Greek pop stars such as Anna Vissi, Elena Paparizou, and platinum-certified Australian artist DJ Havana Brown.
Talent show
Cyprus will select the act that will perform Alex’s composition, and represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2018, in a live television show which will take place in January. The national final will be somewhat of a talent show, in which the artists will sing cover songs.
The national selection is open to all Cypriot citizens or people of Cypriot origin. Finalists will be selected following an internal audition process. During the show, televoters and jurors will chose the winner in a combined voting.
In the weeks after the national selection, Alex P will reveal The Cypriot song for 2018. This means that the participants will not sing the song in the national final yet.
