Cyprus has just decided for the entry that will represent the island in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. Ivi Adamou with the song La La Love will compete in the first Semi-final on May 22nd.

Ivi Adamou was internally selected by the Cypriot broadcaster after her rise to fame on the second series of the Greek X Factor plus the huge success of her first two albums in Greece and Cyprus. After her participation on the Greek X Factor, Sony Music Greece swiftly signed the young Cypriot star after an impressive stint on the popular program. Ivi had impressive charisma and talent on stage, which helped her gain a big fan base which took her to sixth place on the program. During her participation on the show, Ivi was mentored by Giorgos Theofanous who has composed three entries for Cyprus in the contest back in 1992, 1994 (both for ex-wife Evridiki) plus in 2002 for Cypriot boy band ONE. Additionally Theofanous conducted the orchestra for the 1993 and 1995 Cypriot entries.

After completing her studies in 2011, the Cypriot star was ready to take the next step in her career by representing Cyprus in the Eurovision 2012. Therefore in August 2011, Ivi was announced as the 30th representative for Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest.
