Diadato wins Sanremo 2020 and goes to Eurovision

Diadato has won the prestigious San Remo Music Festival in Italy. After multiple, performances throughout the week, he came out on top during tonight’s Grand Final and has therefore won the opportunity to represent Italy at Eurovision in Rotterdam, which he accepted.

Diadato was in the top ranking in Sanremo for Show #4 and continued the victory through to the Grand Final the following week. In the super final, he defeated Italy’s representative for 2019 Francesco Gabbani, who came 6th in the main Eurovision Song Contest in 2017. Pinguini Tattici Nucleari was the third super finalist with “Ringo Starr”.

We still currently await the official announcement in the San Remo press conference to see whether Diadato will take the invitation to represent his country at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam.
