After a one year break due to financial issues, Bulgarian broadcaster BNT has confirmed that the nation returns to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2020. BNT have signed the agreement and rule book needed to participate.
Bulgaria last participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2018, before withdrawing from last years contest in Israel because of a lack of funding. Earlier in this season it became clear that Ukraine would also be coming back to the contest.
Bulgarian news site 24chasa reports that the broadcaster won’t be spending money on the country’s return, since the investment will be financed by a sponsor that is set to be revealed at the official press conference regarding the matter. The official Eurovision Twitter account of BNT has not yet confimred the news.
