Dora, the singing contest used to select the Croatian entry for Eurovision will resume again tonight for the 2011 edition: and with a new format. This year, a total of 24 acts will compete in the competition, which will span over seven weeks.
Over the first two shows, the twenty-four acts (twelve in each show) will sing live to try and qualify through to the next stage, where only 12 acts (six from each show) will be able to enter. After the two heats, during the third and fourth show the remaining 12 contestants will be reduced to six, and then to four. In the fifth and sixth show (quarter-final and semi-final) one act will leave the competition, meaning the final will only be between two acts: who will sing three prospective Eurovision songs to the Croatian public.
Below you can see the artists that will compete in the first show, in brackets the song that they will cover.
Artemija Stanić (Cher – Believe)
Damir Kedžoć (Queen – Crazy little thing called love)
Ivana Brkašić (Nola – Iznad Oblaka)
Tina Vukov (Prljavo kazalište – S Vremena na vrijeme)

The six qualifiers from each heat will be decided completely by televoting: Croatian viewers can vote by calling 065 500 5 + XX (draw number) or by sending an SMS with the singers draw number (eg. 01) to 60106. There will also be a panel made up of three members, who will comment after every song: Gabi Novak, Dino Jelušić (JESC 2003 winner) and Milana Vlaović.
The show will begin at 20:10 CET, and you can watch it via. the HRT streaming service here.
