Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro win Sanremo 2018 in Italy

Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro are the winner of the prestigous Sanremo Festival in Italy. They now have the right to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, but it is not known yet if this will happen indeed.

Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro won tonight with well over 50% of the vote. Annalisa came in third and Lo Stato Sociale came in 2nd.

Lo Stato Sociale almost risked disqualification from the competition earlier in the week. There were claims of plagarism in their song. People claimed that their entry was very similar to the song Silenzio by Ambra Calvini and Gabriele de Pascali. They ended up being suspended from performing earlier in the week pending an investigation.
