Eurovision 2016: Australia in first half of second semi

Australia will perform in the first half of the second semi final on the 12th of May. This is the outcome of the allocation draw in host city Stockholm. Check out the full draw here.

Australia has compete with statistically strong nations, such as Romania, Norway and Ukraine. But the Aussies have avoided a semi final with Greece, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Russia and Azerbaijan, who have a 100% qualifying track record. Australia is in the ‘bigger’ semi, where 19 countries are fighting for 10 spots for the Grand Final.

Here is the allocation draw for Eurovision 2016:

Semi Final 1; First Half:
Croatia, Finland, Moldova, Armenia, Greece, Hungary, Russia, The Netherlands, San Marino

Semi Final 1; Second Half:
Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Malta, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Estonia, Czech Republic, Montenegro, Iceland, Austria

Semi Final 2; First Half:
Latvia, Belarus, Ireland, Switzerland, FYR Macedonia, Australia, Lithuania, Poland, Israel, Serbia

Semi Final 2; Second Half:
Albania, Bulgaria, Denmark, Georgia, Romania, Slovenia, Norway, Ukraine, Belgium

The exact running order will be decided later by the production team of SVT, when all songs are available. We do know however which of the six qualified nations for the final will vote in each semi final:

These countries will vote in semi final 1, consisting of 18 countries:
France, Spain, Sweden

These countries will vote in Australia’s semi final 2, consisting of 19 countries:
Italy, Germany, United Kingdom

Earlier in the season it was mentioned that the six direct qualifiers might also get a video of their rehearsal shown during the semi final in which they vote.
