Eurovision 2016: Australia and Ukraine qualify

ESCDaily is live in Stockholm where tonight the 61st Eurovision Song Contest continued with the second semi-final resulting in the final ten finalists out of the remaining sixteen.

Tonight’s show was hosted by Mans Zelmerlow and Petra Mede live in the Globen Arena in Stockholm. Tonight’s opener involved a comedic dance number sung by Mans and Petra and the interval act featured synchronised choreography of male dancers with multiple robots entitled “Man vs. Machine”.

Ten qualifiers (in order of reveal):

  • Latvia
  • Georgia
  • Bulgaria
  • Australia
  • Ukraine
  • Serbia
  • Poland
  • Israel
  • Lithuania
  • Belgium

This has resulted in all Nordic countries apart from host nation Sweden not qualifying to the Eurovision final. Stay tuned to ESCDaily for the qualifiers to choose their halves for Grand final which will be broadcasted on Saturday 14th May.

  1. WHAAAAAT! How bizzare is this website? 10 countries qualified, not 2 as mentioned in the title.

    • We cannot provide all ten qualifiers within the title therefore we prioritise countries most anticipated or expected of us to mention e.g. Australia and Ukraine.

  2. WELL..
scandinavian countries sent 90’s pop thinking they can send whatever and sweden will make sure they get to the final. guess what, it didnt work with the judges and maybe sweden even wants as few scandinavian countries so it gets as much of their votes hoping for a back to back victory.
