Macedonian broadcaster MRT organizes another edition of SkopjeFest in November. However, it is uncertain whether the winner will go to Stockholm.
Macedonian newspaper Kurir stated today that the MRT wants to keep the national music competition separate from Eurovision. “Our intention is to be in Stockholm, but how we will select our entry, is yet to be decided,” said Mary Popova, one of the MRT representatives involved in SkopjeFest.
Last year, Daniel Kajmakoski won the Macedonian preselection with his song Autumn Leaves, but he failed to bring the Former Yugoslav Republic into the Eurovision final. It was the third year in a row that FYR Macedonia did not qualify for the big Saturday show.
