“I’m a Joker”, Georgia’s entry at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest is set to be overhauled and reproduced before the contest in May. Giga Kukhianidze, the man behind Georgia’s most successful entries in Junior Eurovision will produce the entry from the country, performed by Anri Jokhadze.
Giga is a producer for the music studio “GNK” and children’s studio “Bzikebistudio”. He has composed and produced two winning entries for Georgia in Junior Eurovision from the groups “Bzikebi” and “Candy” which he has put together, along with the entry “Mari Dari” which was performed by singer Mariam Kakhelishvili in the 2010 contest. Now he will step into adult Eurovision, and revamp “I’m a Joker”, written by Bibi Kvachadze and performed by Rusudan Chkaidze.
Anri, who has already performed on the Eurovision stage as a backing singer for 2008 entrant Diana Gurtskaya was a guest on Georgian television show “Apples of Paradise” this week. “This is a great honour and great responsibility to represent my country at the Eurovision.” the singer continues; “I will do my best to cope with the task and I am sure that the song has every chance of success in this competition.”
Georgia will compete in the second half of the second semifinal at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, on May 24th. Stay tuned for more news from the country!
