Ukraine: Gogol Bordello will not compete for a place at Eurovision (UPD)

Gogol Bordello, a Gypsy punk band from New York with Ukrainian origins, will reportedy compete at the upcoming Ukrainian national final. One of the singers who also applied is Nastya Kamenskih, most famous by singing in a duet with Potap.

NTU already recieved 50 applications from artists. Among them are: Jamala, Anastasiya Prikhodko, Yuliya Voys, Group Zaklopky, Para Normalnih, Fabrika Zirok stars Oleksiy Matias and Dmitro Kadnay. Yesterday NTU recieved an application from Gogol Bordello and today from Andrey Danilko, better known as Verka Serduchka (Ukraine 2007).

Today a new story emerges that the original news confirming the bands entrance was more false hope. An official statement from the band reads;
NO TO EUROVISION
Contrary to what some news services are saying, GB will NOT be entering this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Only believe what you read on our official site!”
