Today the applications for cities to host the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest will officially close.
The applications will now arrive at the desk of NDR’s entertainment chief Thomas Schreiber where they be reviewed and discussed by NDR. Fans should expect the decision to be announced next month in September.
The final application came today from Hamburg who have proposed that the upcoming contest to be held at their brand new congress and trade fair hall which has a total capacity of 9.000 people. Click here to view the hall (click A1 on the map).
NDR spokeswoman Iris Bents said the main criteria to be addressed in finding the appropriate host would be a city with TV-friendly facilities and has the best cost-effective transport and hotel infrastructure.
