Hungary: Second show of A Dal cancelled after bus crash in Italy

The second quarter final of A Dal in Hungary will not take place this Saturday. Reason for the cancellation is the bus crash in Italy, that involved Hungarian students returning to Budapest from a school trip from France.

A bus returning from a school trip hit a pylon of a bridge near Verona in northern Italy on Saturday. In the crash, at least 16 people dead, according to Italian news agency ANSA. Italian firefighters posted on their official Twitter account that thirty-nine others were injured.

The bus was reportedly returning to Budapest, Hungary, from a school field trip in a mountain resort in France. The incident happened at the junction of Verona East on the road toward Venice. The bus was carrying 55 people, the majority school boys ages 14 to 18, ANSA said.

Schedule

In the official planning, MTVA would have the second quarter final tonight, the third QF next week, and the semies and final in the three weeks after that. The question now remains what the new schedule will look like. The Hungarian broadcaster will announce a new date for the second quarter final of A Dal later.
