Iceland: Pollapönk for Copenhagen

This evening Iceland decided that the band Pollapönk with the song Enga fordóma (No prejudices) will fly the Icelandic flag at Eurovision in Copenhagen after winning the final of Söngvakeppnin 2014. The punk rock influenced group faced tough competition in the national final from Sigríður Eyrún Friðriksdóttir but ultimately prevailed based on the public televote.

The song is a fun punk rock number which went down a storm with the crowd at the Háskólabíó theatre in Reykjavík tonight. Not only have the six piece band won themselves a place at Eurovision 2014, there was also the prize of 1,000,000 Icelandic króna which they receive as the winners of tonight’s show. Iceland have been drawn to compete in the first half of the first semifinal of Eurovision 2014 on the 6th of May in Copenhagen. We want to know what you think, did the right artist win the national selection show tonight?
