Iceland reveals Aron Hannes’ return to Söngvakeppnin

Aron Hannes will once again take part in Söngvakeppnin in Iceland. Broadcaster RÚV confirmed this as they announced the 12 songs and acts for 2018. After two semi finals, Iceland will pick their act for the Eurovision Song Contest on the 3rd of March.

In 2017 Aron Hannes finished in third place in Söngvakeppnin. The actual winner of the final in Iceland, Svala, did not reach the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Rakel Pálsdóttir also took part in Söngvakeppnin 2017, where she finished fifth in the final together with Arnar Jónsson. Stefanía Svavarsdóttir took part in 2015, but ended up as sixth and last in hr semi final.

Six acts are set to compete in each of the semi-final shows of Söngvakeppnin, on the 10th and 17th of February. In the grand on the 3rd of March, the best 6 acts will battle for the ticket to Lisbon, to represent Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.
