The fifth and final heat of Melodi Grand Prix has been won by Imerika. Shewill perform in the final in Norway on the 20th of February with the song ‘I can’t escape’.

“I can’t escape” is a very small piano ballad performed in a traditional manner. The stage is dark for the first minute, with just a spot on Imerika. After the first chorus, several spots below and behind the singer go on, and we see a string quartet at the front of the stage.

Just like the previous four weeks, the MGP-show featured two battles and a Gold Duel again. In the first battle, RIVER (“Coming home”) defeated TuVeia (“Bli med meg på gar’n”). Then Imerika (“I Can’t Escape) took care of Ane.Fin (“Walking In My Sleep”). In the gold duel, Imerika took victory over RIVER.

Last Chance Round

On the 15th February, all eliminated acts will get one more chance for a final ticket in the Melodi Grand Prix Last Chance round. The upbeat country song of RIVER is a potential outsider to take that ticket.

KiiM now joins Blasemafian, Raylee, Emmy and KiiM, the qualifiers of the other four heats, in the grand final on the 20th of February. Six acts were already qualified for the final without having to perform in the heats. Rein Alexander presented his final song ‘Eyes wide open’.
