Ireland: Brendan Murray “looking for Sam Smith type of song”

Last Friday night, RTE anounced Brendan Murray as the singer that will represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev. One day later, he already spoke about what we can expect from him.

“We are looking for a ballad, a Sam Smith type of song,” Murray tells The Sun. Composers can submit their song to the Irish team behind Murray until Monday the 16th of January 2017. You can find more information about this process on the RTE website.

Brendan is happy to represent Ireland at Eurovision, a song contest he has been watching his whole life. “My family were big fans of the Eurovision, they all used to listen to Johnny Logan.”
