Jedward, one of the participants of the Irish national final for Eurovision 2012, are being literally ‘flooded’ with offers of songs as they make their next bid for Eurovision glory for the second year in a row.

A source close to the twins revealed that John and Edward are being approached with offers of tracks from songwriters all around the world. The band continues to cooperate with UK X Factor judge and their manager Louis Walsh for their potentional Eurovision entry.

“Louis has had over 100 songs submitted from song-writers all over Europe so far”, the source stated. “We know there’s loads more songs on the way. Louis is listening to them all and basically looking out for one that’s better and stronger than Lipstick. The guys want a fantastic song.”

“They’re very serious about it. In the last seven months since the Eurovision, they’ve built up a big fan base in countries like Sweden, Poland, Russia, Germany and Estonia. They’ve gone to number one in 5 countries and they can’t cope with the demand for them now in Europe. They really think they can win the Eurovision next year,” added the source

The band finished eighth in Eurovision 2011 with the song ‘Lipstick’. This year Irish broadcaster RTÉ has decided to adopt the same formula as they did last year, where mentors will be ‘coaching’ the participating acts. Eurovision Song Contest winner of 1992, Linda Martin, will mentor Jedward for their Eurosong 2012 participation. The other four mentors are Julian Benson, Greg French, Bill Hughes and Edele Lynch.

Each of the mentors will select songs and singers who wish to represent Ireland in Baku. The mentors five chosen entries will be performed for the first time on The Late Late Show Eurosong 2012 on February 24th, 2012 and the entry that will represent Ireland in the Eurovision 2012 will be chosen the same night.
