Italy: Gabbani still favorite after drawing first half

Italy’s top favorite Francesco Gabbani drew the first half of the running order for Saturday’s Grand Final. Despite this setback, he is still the clear favorite to win the Eurovision Song Contest.

Most journalists at the press center think that Italy’s pole position is not in danger despite the running order draw. Many believe that the EBU and the production team will put Italy somewhere in the middle. William Lee Adams states: “He still got his eye on the prize.”

Ben Robertson from ESC Insight marks the fact that first half is always a disadvantage. “Italy is still the hot favorite, but this draw adds a little spice to the competition. And we need that right now.”
