Joci Pápai returns to Eurovision after victory in A Dal

Joci Papai

Joci Pápai has won the final of A Dal 2019 in Hungary today and will therefore represent Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv with his song “Az en apám”. He won both jury- and televoting rounds and will now represent Hungary for the second time at Eurovision.

As our chief editor Steef van Gorkum already predicted, Joci Pápai won the first round of the Hungrian preselections’ final (the round with jury voting) with 26 points. The jury also eliminated The Middletonz, which was one of the public’s favourites.

Joci Pápai already has experience with representing the country at Eurovision: he sang “Origo” in 2017 in Kiev, ending up on the eight place.
