Joci Pápai wins quarter final 3 in Hungary, Petruska also through

Hungary 2017 - Pápai Joci

Joci Pápai has won the third and last quarter final in Hungary. In his attempt to represent Hungary in Eurovision for a second time, he received a lot of support from the professional jury. Petruska (superfinalist in 2015) also qualified on jury support.

The app vote favored metalband Leander Kills and gave them 9 points. Despite that, Leander Kills did not qualify directly for the semi finals. And when the televoting had the chance to save them from elimination, they chose rap group USNK instead.

Hungary has a difficult voting system in which support from both jury and televote are crucial to be able to win. In 2017, Joci Pápai also scored low with the public at first, but gained more support from the televote when it mattered.
