The Armenian song for the 2016 Junior Eurovision is revealed. Anahit and Mary will sing “Tarber” in Malta on the 20th of November. Music is composed by Nick Egibyan and lyrics are written by Avet Barsegyan.
Anahit and Mary’s song title “Tarber” means “Different”. It is about the two girls being completely different in their styles but still being best friends and singing one and the same song. Lyric-composer Avet Barseghyan has previously written a range of other Armenian songs including Mika Varosyan’s song “Love” and Betty’s song “People of the sun”. He says he had several ideas about the theme of the song, but he knew from the beginning that he should highlight the differences of both artists.
“After several discussions with our team, we decided that it would be interesting to present the girls just the way they are,” says Barseghyan. “Each of them have their unique style, their personality, and that is what they sing about. Mary is elegant and stylish, while Anahit loves to experiment with new looks and trends. But in the end it is their passion for music that unites them.”
Armenian broadcaster (AMPTV) has internally selected Anahit Adamyan and Mary Vardanyan to represent the country at the 14th edition of Juinior Eurovision. This is the first time that Armenia is represented by a duo.

Anahit was born in Sochi, Russia, and started her singing career in 2013 participating in Russia’s music competitions like “The Voice: Kids” and composer Igor Krutoy’s “Battle of Talents”. Mary was born in Vardenis, Armenia. Starting her musical studies in 2011, Mary has also participated in several music competitions and festivals and in 2015 she won the Grand Prix in the “Renaissance International Music Festival”.
Both of the girls were very excited during the shooting of the video clip for the song. Mary: “We have created two different looks that highlight our differences, our personalities. It was a lot of fun to ‘style fight’ with Anahit on the set!”
