Despite the fact that the next edition of Junior Eurovision will take place in December, the two hosts of the competition have already been assigned. Ewout Genemans, alongside Junior Eurovision 2007 host Kim-Lian van der Meij will present the spectacle at the end of the year.
Ewout Genemans has been involved with Junior Eurovision for the past two years, having hosted the Dutch national selection for the contest, “Junior Songfestival” in 2010 and 2011. Ewout also commentated on the event during the Minsk edition for broadcaster AVRO, whilst he attended the contest in Yerevan last month whilst shooting footage for TV viewers. Last month Ewout also signed a 2 year exclusivity deal with the host broadcaster of Junior Eurovision 2012 to present shows only on their station.
Rotterdam host Kim Lian will reprise her role as host again, after hosting the contest from the “Ahoy” arena in 2007 alongside Sipke Jan Bousema. She is a dutch entertainer who has not only become a successful singer, but also a TV presenter. Kim also takes the lead roles in many musicals, and will play the role of Princess Fiona in the dutch version of “Shrek: The Musical”.
Both Kim-Lian and Ewout will host the show “Junior Dance”, a kids dance show similar to that of “So You Think You Can Dance?”. This show will be broadcast on Saturday evenings over ten episodes (and three live shows). The winner will be part of the interval act during the finals of Junior Eurovision 2012.
