Young singer Lerika will be part of Junior Eurovision for the second year in a row. Last year she represented Moldova, placing 8th with “No-No” – this time, for Russia with the song “Sensatsiya” (Sensation).
Lerika (Valeria Engalycheva) was born in the Czech Republic, and normally resides in the city of Balti in Moldova. However the 13 year old holds dual Russian-Moldovan citizenship, allowing her to compete in “Junior Eurovision” for Russia.
Aside from performing her song in last year’s contest, Lerika has taken part in CIS contest “New Wave Junior” in Ukraine for the past few years – most recently in a duet with Russian singer Vera Brezhneva. She is also part of children’s music group “Respublika Kids”, and has taken part in Belarussian festival “Slavic Bazaar” in Vitebsk.
