Junior Eurovision: Shir & Tim from Israel have their song released

The Israeli song for the 2016 Junior Eurovision has been released. The song titled “Follow My Heart” will be performed by Shir & Tim on 20 November in Valletta.

The lyrics of the song “Follow My Heart” were written by Noam Horev, who has previously written the lyrics of Israel’s entry for the adults’ Eurovision in 2010. Whereas Dor Daniel composed the music of the song.

Auditions to find Israel’s representative in the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest were held in October. Israeli broadcaster IBA looked for participants from various youth groups, competitions and stage schools. Shira Frieman (13) and TimoTi Sannikov (13) were selected to represent Israel as a duo, Shir & Tim.

Both Shira and TimoTi are already known to the Israeli public having participated in several singing contests. Shira participated in the third season of Music School, which is an Israeli singing competition for young talents. Whereas Tim participated in singing contests like Being A Star and Family Performance. He has also a range of experience in international competitions having participated in New Wave Junior and the Slavic Bazaar. Currently, he is taking part in The Voice Kids of Ukraine after having his participation in The Voice Kids of Russia.

Israel returns to Junior Eurovision after a three-year absence since its debut. In 2012 the country was represented by Kids.il with the song “Let The Music Win.
