Belarus: Lidiya Zabolotskaya wins JESC selection

The Belarussian national contest for Junior Eurovision 2011, “Song for Eurovision” has just ended, and Lidiya Zabolotskaya has emerged as the winner. She will sing for Belarus at the international final in Yerevan, with the song “Angely dobra” (Angels of the good). You can listen to the song below:

Lida comes from the city of Mogilev, the third largest city in Belarus. She is 13 years old, and was the oldest participant in the Belarussian selection. She is a successful student, and attends Mogilev City High School № 1, and studies at the children’s vocal studio “Inspiration”. She also has a younger brother and sister whom she helps to look after with her mother.

Lidia has talken part in a number of singing competitions in the past, including the international festivals “Land under white wings” and “Golden Bee”. She also participated in the Belarussian national Junior Eurovision contest last year, placing in fourth. Lidia cites Celine Dion, Lara Fabian and Ukrainian artist Ani Lorak as her favourite artists.
