Lithuanian broadcaster LRT has published the rules for their open call for songs for their upcoming national selection, with the deadline set at October 1st.
The rules state that only Lithuanian composers, or composers who have the right to live in Lithuania, can apply for this year’s selection. LRT has stated that composers can send in their song to LRT, and the broadcaster will try to find suitable singer for them. Otherwise, singers can apply directly with a song. Entries must be made specifically for the Lithuanian Eurovision selection and not songs already have been sent and/or rejected by other countries.
The National selection rounds will start this October, and the results will be decided by televoting and a jury – with a traditional 50/50 split. LRT has promised fans an improved show in comparison to previous national selections.
Original songs, which have not been released before September 1st, must be sent with a copy of the text and information about the performer(s) and the songs’ composers (with ID copies, contact details etc) to this address:
