
At her Eurovision press conference, singer Maro explains that her billingual song “Saudade, Saudade” was originally meant to be fully in English. Only then did she discover that the word “Saudade” cannot be translated.
ESCDaily asked Maro why her song is not 100% in Portuguese. “In your song, you sing about how special Portuguese language is. Why then is your song half in English?” Maro answers that it started as a fully English song. She lives most of the year in the USA, where she works with an American producer.
