Matti Mark, who took part in Eurovision 2011 with the group Sjonni’s Friends, is eliminated from Söngvakeppnin 2020 in Iceland. The two qualifiers from the second semi final on Saturday are Daði, who was the runner-up to Svala in 2017, and Iva.
Daði performed together with the group Gagnamagnið. The song “Gagnamagnið” was the first to be announced as qualifier. In this strong second semi final, Iva, a Dutch-Icelandic blind classical singer from host city Rotterdam, was the second to advance.
Matti Matt did not make the cut, as did Hildur Vala. She won Idols in Iceland fifteen years ago. The fifth bonus qualifier for the final was Nína, with the song ‘Ekkó’.
In the final on the 29th of February the two qualified acts will join the metal group DIMMA and Ísold & Helga, who qualified last week in the first semi final.
