Sweden: Melodifestivalen 2011, Semifinal 3 in Linköping

Tonight, the third semifinal of Melodifestivalen 2011, the Swedish selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011, takes place in Linköping.

The participating entries tonight are:

  • Linda Sundblad – “Lucky You”
  • Simon Forsberg – “Tid att andas”
  • Sara Lumholdt – “Enemy”
  • The Playtones – “The King”
  • Shirley’s Angels – “I Thought It Was Forever”
  • Sebastian – “No-one Else Could”
  • Sara Varga – “Spring för livet”
  • Eric Saade – “Popular”

Last year’s third place participant Eric Saade is widely believed to have the best song of the contest and is expected to qualify with flying colours to the Final at Globen on March 12. Tonight we see the two “Sara”s perform and the first of the three “Linda”s!

Sara Lumholdt was a member of A*Teens, along with the 2011 presenter Marie Serneholt. Shirley Clamp is back, backed by two “angels” with a modern pop song, Linda Sundblad’s music is currently very popular after a successful album in 2010, Sebastian Karlsson is returning also this year with his entry “No-one Else Could” and The Playtones are currently very popular in Sweden after winning Dansbandkampen.
