Metalband AWS wins second heat in Hungary

Metalband AWS has won the second quarter final of A Dal in Hungary. Ádam Szabó and his band yesyes also qualified for the semi finals.

Hungary has a longstanding tradition with metal and alternative rock music. Last week, rock band Leander Kills already won the first of three heats.

Biggest surprise of the night was newcomer Gergely Danielfy, who finished in second place with his quiet performance of “Azt Mondtad”. The song only featured two instruments: a violin and an acoustic guitar and sounded like something you would listen to while having dinner on an outside terrace on a warm summer night.

Full results in Hungary’s A Dal heat 2 (qualifiers in bold):

  1. AWS – Viszlát Nyár 45pt
  2. Gergely Danielfy – Azt mondtad 45pt
  3. yesyes – I Let You Run Away 43pt
  4. Biga – Good Vibez 43pt
  5. Odett – Aranyhal 39pt
  6. Nene – Mese a kiralyrol 37pt
  7. Peet Project – Runaround 36pt
  8. Vikki Singh – Butterfly House 34pt
  9. SativuS – Lusta lany 34pt (televote)
  10. Maya’n’Peti – Nekem te 30pt

The jury forced previous participants Peet Project and Vikki Singh to take part in the televoting round. In the end, the last semi final ticket went to SativuS, leaving both acts that took part last year as well, behind with a big disappointment.
