Michela Pace has finally won X-Factor Malta. The X-Factor franchise has been used in Malta to select this years Eurovision entry for Tel Aviv.
After a mammoth Grand Final in Malta, 18 year old Gozo resident Michela Pace has won the Maltese ticket to Tel Aviv. It was Boy vs Girl and artist vs manager in the super final as Howard mentored Michela and Ira mentored Owen. The artist is Ira Losco and her manager is Howard Keith Debono based at Jagged House in Mosta.
Over the course of the season, the Maltese version of X-Factor has been breaking TV records in Malta, having the highest viewed programme of over 180,000 people only a few weeks ago.
Voting opened several times in the grand final. MESC alumni Petra was first out, followed by Nicole Frendo, and that left two finalists for the super sing off, and out of the two, Michela reigned supreme, and she will be representing Malta in Tel Aviv.
In the final, Michela had the opportunity to sing with the Maltese tenor legend, Joseph Calleja, and this give her the opportunity to demonstrate that she could also sing in Maltese as well as English.
It is now upto Michela’s new record company, Sony Italy, what she sings at Eurovision, and not PBS Malta, even though for the rest of the season, she will be tied to PBS.
