Mihai Traistariu opts out from final in in Romania

Mihai Traistariu is not back in the Romanian preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest after all. The artist that sang at Eurovision in 2006, has opted out from Selecția Națională 2019.

In a Facebook post, MIHAI explains that he no longer has trust in the broadcaster and their objectivity and that he cannot participate in a competition with uncertainties.

Broadcaster TVR originally announced the list of semifinalists of Selecția Națională 2019. Other notable names in Romania were Nicola (10th at Eurovision 2003) and Dan Bittman (21st at Eurovision 1994), but the latter also withdrawed later.

It has been revealed that Bella Santiago and Linda Teodosiu will be competing in the national selection having received wildcards into the competition. The full list can be found below:

The two semi-finals being hosted by two cities in the west and east of the country. Semifinals will take place in Arad and Iasi, with final in Bucharest. The events will be broadcast live by TVR under the slogan “Fulfil your dream!”
