After four new songs for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest were presented yesterday evening, a fifth will be decided before the weekend comes to the end. Moldova will choose their participant for Europe’s favourite television show tonight in their national selection show ‘O melodie pentru Europa’. The show, which will be held from Studio 2 at TRM’s headquarters will begin at 19.30 local time (18.30 CET).
The show will be broadcasted on Moldovan first channel ‘Moldova 1’, international channel ‘TVM International’, online at trm.md and for the first time on Eurovision.tv. Over sixty songs were submitted to Moldova’s state broadcaster, Teleradio Moldova (TRM) to take part in their national competition. After two rounds of jury hearings they whittled the number of songs taking part down to 20. Following this, internet voting chose one more finalist to the line up – which you can see below;

The winner will be decided by combining the viewers votes with those of a professional jury, each having equal input into the result. The jury will be voting on a number of criteria, including the songs composition, the performers’ live singing capabilities, the song’s originality and it’s interpretation. Guests of the show include Eurovision participants Sinplus, representing Switzerland and Ukraine’s singer Gaitana.
