Montenegrin broadcaster RTCG just confirmed that Željko Joksimović will compose the song with which Knez will go to Vienna. According to Knez himself, the song will be ‘faster and more cheerful than we are used to’.
Željko Joksimović has a long and succesful history with the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2004, he represented Serbia and Montenegro with the song ‘Lane Moje’, which ended in 2nd place. His second participation as a singer came in 2012, this time for Serbia, ending in third place with the song ‘Nije Ljubav Stvar‘. In the years in between, Joksimović composed several Eurovision songs for other artists, and presented the competition in 2008 when Serbia was host country.
“I do not need to waste words on describing the quality of Željko Joksimović as a composer,” Knez says in an interview. “Of course I am honoured to be in a studio working with him.” Joksimović himself states that the offer of RTCG was one that he “could not refuse”.
When the song will be presented, has not yet been confirmed. Montenegro will perform in the first half of the second semi final on May 21st.
