Norway 2018 – Alexander Rybak – That’s How You Write A Song

Alexander Rybak was born on 13th May 1986 in Minsk, Belarus. When he was young, his family emigrated to Norway. The singer first entered the public eye when he took part in Idol: Jakten på en superstjerne, the Norwegian version of Idol, in 2005. He went on to reach the semi-final.

Alexander became popular globally when he won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2009 with his song “Fairytale”. He holds the record for the most amount of points using the previous voting system, finishing the contest with 387 points, 169 points ahead of runner-up Iceland.

In March, it was decided that Alexander Rybak would once again represent Norway at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest after he won Melodi Grand Prix. Norway takes part in the first half of the first semi final on the 8th of May 2018.
