Norway: NRK announce hosts and dates for MGP 2011

This afternoon, NRK have announced the hosts for MGP 2011, the Norwegian national selection for Eurovision. As usual, Per Sundnes will be the male host for the event, but Anne Rimmen will take the female role.

Anne Rimmen

Anne joined the team of presenters at NRK’s Sport division in September 2007, nearly three years ago. Since then she has had extensive experience as a host for NRK’s Olympic programming, Artic Challenge and Finnmarksløpet (Dog-sled racing). She will take the female host job from her sister, Marte Stokstad since she is taking time out of her presenting job to have her first child. Anne also announced the Norwegian votes at last year’s contest.

The dates for MGP 2011 are as follows:
Semifinal 1 (Ørland) January 15th
Semifinal 2 (TBA) January 22nd
Semifinal 3 (TBA) January 29th
Second Chance (Sarpsborg) February 5th
Final (Oslo Spektrum) February 12th

Both Norwegian and foreign composers can still send entries for the selection until September 12th. More information can be found at NRK’s MGP website here.
