NTU: Head to head race between Kiev and Odessa

Dnipro looks to be out of the race to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. The decision was to be announced today, but has been postponed for the fourth time. NTU’s director general Zurab Alasania has now explained on his Facebook page that it is a head to head race between Kiev and Odessa.

It may be the case that both cities need more time to finalize their plans. In the last couple of weeks, Kiev has changed their plans for hosting Eurovision, fully focussing on the International Exhibition Centre as their potential venue. Zurab Alasania now states that it will take the NTU and EBU one more week to make their decision.

The mayor of Dnipro Borys Filatov has reacted furious about postponing the decision once again, calling it “a disgrace for Ukraine, the country that has lost two full month to prepare for Eurovision.”
