After the success of the Junior Eurovision selection, Polish broadcaster TVP have announced that ‘Szansa na Sukces’ will be used to select the Eurovision participant for 2020. With that choice, Poland returns to a televised preselection for Eurovision.
The selection will begin on Sunday 2nd February, and will run on each Sunday until February 23rd and will be hosted by Artur Orzech. There will be three semi-finals, where six to seven artists will perform cover songs of a specific artist each week.
There will be an in-studio jury who will select just one artist from each semi-final to advance to the final. The jury can also award a Golden Ticket to one artist who didn’t originally qualify to the final. In the final, the artists will perform a cover song and an original song, which will be their Eurovision entry if they win. The winner will be chosen by the public.
Interested artists are encouraged to apply to the broadcaster by the 12th of January. All entrants must be Polish nationals.
The show was used to select the Polish entrant for Junior Eurovision in 2019. The winner of the show, Viki Gabor, went on to win Junior Eurovision, which was Poland’s second consecutive win at Junior Eurovision.
Tulia represented Poland at Eurovision in 2019, however failed to qualify to the final. Watch their performance below:
