Portugal: Famous composers on the list for Festival da Canção 2018

Of course, after winning Eurovision 2017, Portugal will stick to their game plan. Thus, broadcaster RTP announced the 26 composers for the upcoming Festival da Canção 2018. There are some big names in the line-up.

Festival da Canção was revamped last year, with more focus on the composers, rather then the artists. Former Eurovision-artists Fernando Tordo and José Cid – who also was a composer in the contest before – are on the list. Outside the world of Eurovision, pop-star Diogo Piçarra and rapper Capicua also made a name for themselves in Portugal already.

The semi finals of Festival da Canção 2018 will showcase 13 songs each. These shows will be held on the 18th and 25th of February. The national final – with 7 qualified songs from both shows – is set for Sunday the 4th of March in the Guimarães Multiusos.
